Glossy 4.5 x 6.5 photo of a painting completed by Sir Gerald Kelly, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “For Paul North, W. Somerset Maugham.” A bottom left corner crease, a light horizontal crease at the top of the image, and scattered soiling, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by a 1964 TLS by from Maugham’s secretary explaining that the writer, then 91, was “a very old man…and in very poor health.”
