This is a hand crafted and exceptionally rare double rotating (roll-over) barrel pistol made by William Henshaw of London, England in circa 1820. The piece also shows both barrels having deep rifling, a very skilled and early addition to a pistol. William Henshaw created the finest multiple barrel pistols and blunderbusses in the 18th to 19th century. The piece is marked on the left side, "W. Henshaw" and the right "London". The firearm has excellent hand engravings showing a banner across the middle with multiple flags, spears, a drum, and a cannon on both sides. The entire piece shows wonderful engravings with a checkered wood grip that has a sterling silver round inlay with a family crest (a crown made up of a birds wings and head over an 'L'). The owner of this firearm would have been a very wealth man or dignitary. The trigger guard can be pulled back allowing the barrel to be turned. Measures overall 11.75"L. NO FFL.
