Baily & Co., 1839, 1840 and 1841 respectively), first editions, volume one 512 pages, volume two 511 pages, volume three 576 pages, 8vo (5.5" x 8.75"), bound in full red leather with gold decorative adornment, gilt fore edges, maps (some fold-out), numerous engravings. A nice set with slightly bumped corners and some age darkening to spines. Volume three has slight damage to outside front hinge.
