This is an antique print from the December, 1935 Vanity Fair magazine featuring artwork by Marcel Vertes: "At the opening of the opera - mother and daughter." SIZE: Approx. 9 1/4" x 12 3/4". Marcel Vertes (August 10, 1895 - October 31, 1961) was a Hungarian costume designer and illustrator. He won two Academy Awards (Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design) for his work on the 1952 film Moulin Rouge. Vertes is also responsible for the original murals in the Cafe Carlyle in the Carlyle Hotel in New York City.
