Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea Exile Production Teleplay
Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea Exile Production Teleplay - During the height of the Cold War, Irwin Allen, inspired by Russian leader Nikita Khrushchev's visit to Twentieth Century-Fox Studios, and lunch with Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe, and his refusal to attend Disneyland, created a very controversial episode of his hit TV series "Voyage To The bottom Of The Sea" called "the Exile" (Season 1, Episode 27 - first aired March 15, 1965) in which a Khrushchev type leader of Russian wants to defect to the US! This was one of the most watched shows, and even though by the time it aired, Khrushchev was out of office, the State Department got involved with this, worried about the ramifications! The great Ed Asner played the Russian leader "Brynov", and his confident Semenev was played by James Frawley who went on to great fame as the director of "The Monkees" groundbreaking TV series. The episode was directed by the award-winner James Goldstone, and written by legendary writer (and close friend of Marylyn Monroe), William Read Woodfield. This is a truly amazingly mint condition actual production shooting script dated February 10, 1965, of this infamous episode. It is the "rainbow" revised script with the original Twentieth Century-Fox Television front and back cover. A true collector's item!
