This wonderful compact comes from Volupte'. It is circa 1920s-1930s.

The compact is square and is in a Chinoiserie or Asian-influenced design, with impressed figures of a tiger/leaping hart, birds, elephant, trees, and ferns which are painted in aqua, red, black, and yellow on the gold metal. The sides of the compact are edged with an impressed teardrop and fern design painted in black and white. The compact has an inside compartment. The design is identical on both sides.

The compact is a 2 7/8 x 2 7/8-inch square and is 1/3-inch thick. Beyond a small chip out of the lower right corner of the mirror on the inside of the compact, this piece is in excellent condition!

This will make an excellent addition to a compact or accesories collection!
