Viva Zapata (Twentieth Century Fox, 1952). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). To follow up his much-lauded performance in "A Streetcar Named Desire," Marlon Brando re-teamed with director Elia Kazan for this biopic of the revolutionary Mexican leader. Anthony Quinn wanted the role himself and thought he deserved it for his more convincing Latin look and for the praise he received for the traveling "Streetcar" stage production (some found him better than Brando). Kazan saw the potential for sibling rivalry between the two actors, so he cast Quinn as Zapata's brother. Every card in this set depicts Brando in all his squinting, mustachioed glory. Most cards have several pinholes as well as rounded corners and slightly scuffed edges. Two of the cards have a small hole and abrasion in the image area, but the set looks great overall, with the art perfectly capturing the romantic spirit of the film. Very Fine-.
