Visor and front half from armor helmet used in Gioco Del Ponte circa 1650 approximately where this game of the bridges was a contest similar to jousting. Two opponents would dress in armor and using wood lances would try to knock each otheroff their horses while meeting at a bridge. This game was popular in Italy during the mid-17th century as a revival of the tournament contest. The two articulated neck pieces are properly hand formed but are 19th or 20th century restorationsand are nicely aged and matching in appearance. A very decorative element of armor that would be a great wall hanger. Est.: $1500-$3000
