The lot features a set of matching Virtue Brothers mid century modern original directors style chairs. The chairs have tubular steel chrome construction with original leather like upholstery (possibly vinyl). These were made by Robert Kjer Jakobsen for Virtue Brothers of California. The chairs are featured in the 1969 issue of California Design Ten book on page 46. Robert Kjer Jakobsen was born in Portland, Oregon, on March 8, 1918. From 1949 to 1985, he was chief designer of the Los Angeles furniture company, Virtue Brothers; his designs of chrome were iconic and successful. Each chairs shows overall good condition. Measures 19.5"W x 16"D x 31.75"H. Sells as a set.
