Appears to be an authentic Arnoldus Montanus map from Amsterdam, 1671, hand colored, an example of Tooley's 8th Derivative of the John Smith map of the Virginia & Chesapeake region. Noted as being Notarum Explicatio and Nova Virginiae Tabula with a winged cherub holding a light lilac drapery in the upper left corner and further noted to be Tabula.14 1/2" wide by 11 1/2" tall site size, general brown colors to the paper surface.
