Lot of 3 framed items: 1) A 4.75” x 7” bill from “M C.P. Mason” of Carson Nevada, dated “8/17 1882”, to Virginia And Truckee Railroad Company. The bill is for “4 Pr Car Wheels” weighing “2000” at a rate of “4 1/2", for a total cost of “90”. Flanking the bill are four small bond notes, each for $25.00 and signed by “Geo A King”. The payout dates on the notes range from 1877 to 1888. The bond marked “166” is punched with a star shape, and the “165” stamp is punched with a round. 2) A framed 1.75” x 3” ticket printed “V. & T. Railroad Company/ Pass The Bearer/ On Excursion Train./ Carson to Bowers’ Mansion and return,/ Saturday, June 12, 1875./ Fare One Dollar/ Train Leaves at 10 O'clock.”. Aged and yellowed, brown spots. 3) A 1.25” x 3.25” ticket printed on the front “Virginia and Truckee Railroad./ Notice to Passengers./ Ask for a Lay Over Ticket if you wish to stop over at any/ Station. This Personal Check is good only for this train/ and day. M.V. Follett, Conductor.” And stamped with “74”. The reverse is printed with a table of miles and locations including Reno, Washoe, Carson, Gold Hill, Virginia, and others. The Virginia & Truckee Railroad was chartered 11 February 1869, opened 1 January 1870, and then sold to the Virginia & Truckee Railway on 1 July 1905. - Jacobitz Collection -59739
