An absolutely fabulous archive of Virginia and Truckee Railroad documents, tickets, receipts, handwritten letters, and photographs documenting the company’s history and progress. The Virginia and Truckee Railroad was constructed to serve the Comstock Lode communities in northwestern Nevada. This railroad has a wonderful, rich history with deep roots across Nevada. This archive contains photos of the original steam engines, including 39, 22, 26, 11, 6, and 4, and photos of conductors, depots, water towers, and trestles. The documents in this stunning archive include an intact RENO REPORTER newspaper with the headline “RIP ROARING FUNERAL SCHEDULED FOR V. & T.”, receipts for train parts and mining tools, voucher receipts, an 1884 payroll sheet, postcards, checks, timetables, special pay receipts, conductor reports, and a variety of boarding tickets. This is an ideal addition to any Railroadiana, Comstock, or Western history collector’s prized holdings. - Jacobitz Collection -59945
