This company was incorporated during the territorial period. The stock was issued three months after Nevada became a state to John Skae. Skae was one of the early Gold Hill millionaires. He associated with James Fair, managed the Utah Mine together in the late 1850's. He was the subject of two Mark Twain articles. He sided with John Mackay in 1868 against James Flood. In other words he walked with the big boys. However, by the late 1870s Skae's fortunes seriously declined. According to the Reno Evening Gazette, Aug. 15, 1881, "Famous stock operator Skae was arrested in San Francisco and sent to prison on default of $5.00 fine.
