(Unknown, 1970s) A custom-framed faux Disneyland plaque from the estate of Virginia Davis, child star of Walt Disney's Alice Comedies. During the 1970s, several “tribute” items appeared in the Disney collectibles scene, designed to look like 1930s or 1950s souvenirs. This door plaque, produced in England, is one of these items, featuring images of Walt’s Kansas City business card, Mickey Mouse and the monorail, and Walt’s Disneyland opening day speech. Despite their unusual history, these items are actually quite desired among collectors and have earned a unique place in Disneyana history. Measuring 3.75" x 10" in an 8" x 14.25" frame, the plaque is in very good condition with very light warping, spots of oxidation from age, and wear, while the frame is in good condition with scratches, scuffs, and wear.
