One of the most prolific, and most respected, science-fiction/fantasy artists of any age, Finlay's talent was as broad as his imagination. His originals are extremely desirable, and competition to own them is typically fierce amongst collectors. The piece offered here, created as an illustration for Robert S. Young's story "Jupiter Found," has an image area of approximately 9.5" x 13", and is rendered in ink and charcoal pencil on textured paper. Signed by the artist in the lower right. Beautifully (and expensively) framed in the Art Deco mode that maintains the feel of the art by Harlan Ellison, who designed the format. Mr. Ellison tells us he spent $200 on this mounting. <I>From the personal collection of Harlan Ellison.</B></I> <B>Estimate: $2,500-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
