Vintage Superman Child's Costume (Superman Inc., circa 1940s-50s). If radio was good for the Superman franchise in the 1940s, then TV was even greater for him in the 1950s. ""The Adventures of Superman"" was the perfect TV embodiment of American society in the 50s, and was an immediate hit when it debuted, and it remained one of most popular and enduring of the early TV science-fiction showcases. Superman was also big with toy manufacturers at that time, because they could easily tie in with merchandising, starting at the very basic fantasy level of costumes for little boys to dress up like the Man of Steel. This costume includes blue and red pants and a cape, with a button up blue shirt which has a Superman logo on the chest. The original yellow belt is not included. There is an inscription on the bottom of the shirt which reads, ""Remember -- This suit won't make you fly -- only Superman can fly."" You'll find a bit of staining on several parts of the costume, but overall it is in Excellent condition.

Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour.
