Description: For your bidding enjoyment we offer this vintage slave bracelet, featuring eight turquoise stones throughout the design as well as sterling silver appliqué. The term “slave bracelet” refers to a type of jewelry that has a chain or other attachment from the bracelet to one or more finger rings. This fashion originated in Africa and was likely adopted by Native Americans for tourist consumption after the bracelets became popular in the 1920s American culture. Maker: Marked, Justin Morris (Navajo). Approx. Age: Vintage. Size: Ring size is 8, cuff measures 5-5/8” with a 1-1/8” opening, (fits a 6-3/4” wrist). Weighs 40.5 grams.
