This is an original vintage (probably 1940s or 1950s) photograph of a Monterey cypress in Central California. We don't know if this is the famous Lone Cypress on 17-Mile Drive in Pebble Beach, California, as the photo was taken from a completely different angle and location than other photos we've seen of it. Although these trees have been planted elsewhere, they are native to only a small area near Pebble Beach and Carmel, California, and the photo certainly looks like it was taken in that area along California's Central Coast. The photo is attached to a flexible paperboard. This piece will need to be shipped flat. SIZE: Photo: Approx. 14 1/2" x 19 1/4". Paperboard: Approx. 17 1/4" x 23".
This photo is from the estate of Carl Bakula who was an Army recon photographer and then went on to win awards for his work in New York and Minneapolis. We have a box of photos and negatives from his world travels that we have been adding to our auction catalogs.

Excellent condition with light denting throughout. The paperboard has some slight darkening along the edges along with a little scrunching on a couple of edges and a couple of softened corners.

If any dispute arises after the sale, our sales record is conclusive.

A 20% restocking fee also applies to merchandise rejected by the buyer due to reasons other than misrepresentation by All Things Estate Auctions. All sales are final. No lots are sold on approval. Placing a bid is a legally binding obligation. There are no returns or exchanges.
