This stunning compote is seven (7) inches in diameter and 8 1/2 inches tall. It has a 3 1/2-inch bowl and a five (5)-inch stem. It has a five (5)-inch base.<p>

Made of gorgeous green glass, the bowl of the compote is hand decorated with double pansies with yellow and green leaves in a relief. Three (3) cartouches painted in gold with trailing gold curlicues are part of a continuous thick gold overlay design. The stem, which is turned like a table leg might be, is overlaid with gold to the base.<p>

The compote has been appraised as late 19th-early 20th century vintage Moser glass. It is in perfect condition!<p>

(Moser Glass produced some of the most gorgeous glasswork of the 19th century. It is the legacy of Ludwig Moser (1833-1916), a Jewish artist from Bohemia (now the Czech Republic). With Moser glass, we have not only the wonderful artistry of its conception and production, we have artifacts of a business whose founders earned their success but also faced undeserved persecution for their very survival.<p>

Ludwig founded the company in Karlsbad, Czechoslovakia in 1857. Trained as a painter, he began using his own intricate styles and techniques of glassmaking and decoration to produce his glass pieces. The sheer beauty and allure of his glass creations ultimately drew the royalty of Europe and other heads of state and church to desire and to own it, hence giving Moser Glass the nickname ?The Glass of Kings.?<p>
