Framed, matted, behind glass is this wonderful vintage watercolor painting. I cannot make out the signature. However the first letter looks like a "T." then there are letters or symbols that are illegible proceeding what looks to be "eck". <p> It is, as you can see, a lovely landscape scene of birch trees in the foreground. Then across the body of water are a row of trees that are assumed to be poplars lining the shore. There is also cabin or house. In background is a purplish mountain. It look as if it is the begining of autumn due to the leaves of the birch are yellow and the poplar leaves are just begining to turn. There are ripples in the water that interrupt the reflection of the shoreline. <p> The condition is good. The paining is on watercolor paper. It is not laying flat in the frame but proper re-framing will fix that. The paper matting has yellowed somewhat. The frame is a plain but handsome hardwood. There are a few scratches to the wood finish. <p> It came from my in-laws estate. I don't know the history of it. I found this painting covered up under calander print that my mother-in-lay had put in the frame. Strange that she would cover up a piece of oringal art with a mass produced print. Oh well. <p> The visable portion of the painting is 8" x 11 1/2". The frame is 12 1/2" x 16 1/2".
