Vintage Hopi Pottery Jar by Irene Shupla, measures 6''H x 6''D, signed on bottom by artist, nice thick walled jar, Artist Bio: Irene Shupla, Hano village at First Mesa and from the Kachina/Parrot Clan. She was an active potter from 1930 to 1980. The largest collection of her work is in the Museum of Northern Arizona, Flagstaff. This bowl is typical of the fine work she did. It is very symmetrical in shape and decorated appropriately for its shape. The interior of the bowl is left without slip and the natural clay has been stone polished.
