Appealing collection of eight photos signed by notable vintage entertainers, including:

Matte-finish 7.5 x 9.5 Talbot portrait of Ilka Chase in a lovely seated pose, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Andre Charise, with sincere good wishes, Ilka Chase, ‘Revenge with Music,’ 1934–35.” Also signed in the lower left by the studio in red ink. Reverse bears a photography studio credit stamp. Neatly trimmed and in fine condition.

Glossy 8 x 10 portrait of the curly haired Jean Darling, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “With lots of love to Mme. Saunders, from your little friend, Jean Darling, 9–1–32, ‘Our Gang Comedies,’” with the reverse bearing a H. Golden stamp. In very good to fine condition, with a few single pin holes to blank borders, and emulsion loss to lower left edge. Darling was a child actress (1922–2015) who was a regular in the Our Gang short subjects series from 1927-29.

Matte-finish 10.75 x 13.75 photo of Billy Eckstine by noted portrait photographer Wallace Seawell, affixed to its original 11.5 x 14.75 presentation mount, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Wally, What more can I say! The greatest! Sincerely, Billy Eckstine." Blindstamped in the lower left and ink stamped on the reverse by Seawell. In fine condition, with some chipping to edge of the mount.

Sepia glossy 8 x 12.25 White studio portrait of Cecilia Loftus with a beatific expression, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Mr. Emerling with very best wishes, Cecilia Loftus, 1927.” Reverse bears a photography studio stamp. In fine condition, with trimmed edges, a few surface creases, and a couple of corner creases. Loftus was a multitalented Scottish actress and musician (1876–1943) best remembered for her roles in The Blue Bird and The Black Cat.

Glossy 8 x 10 photo of the smiling Mauch twins posing back to back, signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint by both, “To Richard, Sincere best wishes…your books are great, Bill Mauch” and “For Richard, Best to you and yours in all your pictures, Bob Mauch,” with the reverse bearing a Longworth–Warner Bros. photography stamp. In very good condition, with scattered creases, surface impressions and marks, and a tear to upper right edge.

Matte-finish 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo of Renate Muller in a full-length pose, signed in fountain pen. Scattered silvering to background of image, and light vertical postal cancellations to right side, otherwise fine condition. Muller was a German singer and actress (1906–1937) who was immensely popular in the early 1930s. Her sudden death at the age of 31 was initially attributed to epilepsy, but after the end of World War II, witnesses suggested that she had been murdered by Gestapo officers after she refused to appear in Nazi propaganda films.

Matte-finish 10 x 13 MGM publicity photo of the young pigtailed Margaret O’Brien seated in a chair and wearing a striped outfit, signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen, “To Mr. Alfonso Gaona, love, Margaret O’Brien,” with the reverse bearing a MGM stamp. In fine condition.

Rare matte-finish 9.5 x 7.5 full-length photo of Elizabeth Patterson standing outside next to a gorgeous dark automobile, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Henrietta—with appreciation & many good wishes, Elizabeth Patterson.” In fine condition, with a trimmed top edge and tape remnants to three corners. Patterson was a character actress (1875–1966) best known for her role as the elderly neighbor Matilda Trumbull on I Love Lucy.
