Vintage Eugene Dietzgen WWII U.S. Navy Drafting Navigator's Drafting Tools in Original Navigator's Case, 6 piece set, comes in original green velvet lined storage box, box measures 5.75''L x 2.5''W, compass is marked Dietzgen Germany, the bottom of the case is embossed ''Germany'', ''The navigators case is the older style that uses a push/pull on the right side as the locking mechanism.'' FYI: ''Around 1880, Eugene Dietzgen emigrated from Germany and became a sales distributor for Keuffel & Esser in New York. In 1885, he began to sell mathematical instruments on his own in Chicago. In 1893, his firm started manufacturing instruments under the name Eugene Dietzgen Company.''The navigators case is the older style that uses a push/pull on the right side as the locking mechanism. The case has NAVIGATORS CASE U.S. NAVY printed in gold lettering on top and Eugene Dietzgen Co. on the bottom. The bottom also has GERMANY debossed on the top left corner.The outside of the case is intact but shows wear & age. The hinged portion shows wear but still functional. The inside of the case is lined with green velvet,
