Rare handcrafted Modernist Sterling and Mahogany Salad Servers. Hallmarked: Sterling - TAXCO, DG in a cartouche. Damaso Gallegos was an apprentice of H. Aguilar. He died in 1980 and began his shop in 1940. His hallmark is listed in the Mexican hallmark book by Bille Hougart, The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks.
Condition: Fine. Small chip at end of wood serving spoon. Can be easily routed smooth but, personally, I am a purse on some items and would like it alone being that the artist is renowned. His piece is also reminiscent of George Jensen's designs. These are a very special fine from an estate in Tucson.
Note: Sterling Silver Bowl is not for sale. Pictured for display only!!
Measurement: 11-1/2" Length. Handle Width: 1", Fork 1-1/4" and spoon 2-1/4" widths
