Vintage Beaded Strike-A-Lite Bag
Property being sold is not new! Dents, dings, scratches and other damage may be present—and is common—on used and vintage items. Items are available for preview well in advance of the auction and we take several pictures as well. Please inspect thoroughly PRIOR to bidding. Once auctioneer says “SOLD” Buyer assumes all responsibility for items.
Up for your bidding pleasure is this vintage strike-a-lite bag featuring intricate bead work and jingle cones. Native American women would tie a bag like this under their apron and would carry in it items necessary for making a fire. This would usually consist of flint, a “Strike-a-Light” which is a special steel plate to use with the flint for creating sparks to start a fire, and tinder (such as dry moss or rabbit fur) to catch the sparks and start the fire. Maker: Unmarked. Approx. Age: Vintage. Size: 17 inches long X 3-5/8 inches wide. Condition: Good for its age, normal wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures - they are an important part of our description. Shipping: There will be a $5 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot. The actual cost of postage will be added on top of that. BUY IT NOW: If you would like to buy this item now without waiting for the auction to end (this option is only available up to 48 hours before the auction starts to close), the “Buy it Now” price is the high estimate of this lot. If you would like to end the auction early and pay the high estimate (plus applicable fees), please contact us by phone or email and reference this lot number.
