This school began operations in 1865 following the Civil War in Fort Defiance, Virginia. The buttons on this coat help to date it to after the 1890s. How far after, we were not able to determine. Overall, a great, elaborate coat with tons of buttons, none missing, and very little deterioration. What makes it even better is the fact that this school is no longer in existence today.
