This footed carnival glass compote/candy bowl is lovely in both shape and color! Manufactured in the 1950s, it is ruby, gold, and purple iridescent with a marigold finish. It is in near mint condition.

The compote/candy bowl is 6 1/2 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches high. It has three (3) feet on the base. The upper edge of the glass is ruffled.

The design of this compote is like the opening of a set of cabbage leaves. The outside of the bowl shows overlapping veined leaves. The inside of the bowl has purple and gold tones over the ruby glass. The outside of the bowl, and the leaf design, is overlaid with the marigold finish.

This item demonstrates Imperial's dedication in the 1950s to more natural effects in its carnival glass design. This piece is marked with the Imperial G through the I mark the company used in the 1950s.
