This footed carnival glass compote is lovely in both shape and color! Manufactured in the 1950s, it is ruby, gold, and peacock blue iridescent. It is in near mint condition.

The compote, which is 6 1/2 inches wide, 4 inches high, and with a 3 1/2-inch base, is ruffled. It is like a presentation of a spread of peacock feathers. Like peacock feathers, It varies in its "inner" and "outer" views as to which of its colors presides at which point. There is gold inside as well as the outside edge. There is peacock blue in the center. The basis of the glass is the gorgeous ruby color throughout.

The combination of color, design, and iridescent surface is sumptuous! This piece is marked with the Imperial G through the I mark the company used in the 1950s.
