This is a wonderful "Hurdy Gurdy" barrel organ made by Vincente Llinares of Spain and called the Faventia. This early to mid 1900's piece shows a music roll that plays six different tunes including; Fascinacion, La Paloma, Valcencia, Beguin The Beguine, Doctor Zhivago and Stranger in the Night. The hand crank on the side of the case would change between tunes and the crank on the front controls the music. This is also referred to as a "Music Miniature" of the Hurdy Gurdy street piano. The piece shows an all solid wood construction with cherry red coloring and yellow painted trim with all original hardware. The front is marked, "FAVENTIA" and the piano comes with the original Vincente Llinares hallmarked Programa showing the six songs. The front of the piano shows a hand sewn style of floral embroidery. On the inside shows instructions and at the back of the case above the original roll it is again marked by the Barcelona, Spain maker. The piece functions wonderfully and needs a tune. Overall the piece displays well and is truly a wonderful collectible. Measures 17.5"H x 18.5"W x 16"D (with the handle and 10.75"D without the handle). The Faventia Hurdy Gurdy is highly collectible with two examples selling at auction for $18,000 and $8,000 at a Morton Subastas 2017 sale.
