A beautiful sterling silver Victorian period card case, with engine turned engraving to centre panel, and Greek key design to outer border. Central circular motif with initials ?G.P. to J.P.? in very small letters. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1868. Maker: F.M. Case measures 8.25cm by 4.8cm (3.3/16 inches by 1.7/8 inches). It is 6mm thick (1/4 inch). Condition of the front is very good - the back has an indented area, but this would be easy to straighten, as it is not a sharp dent, just a depressed area. Very good condition for an item 140 years old. Silver weight: 35 grms.
