For your consideration is this Victorian Eastlake Marble Top Carved Walnut Dresser with Ornate Mirror, circa 1890s. Wonderful and stunning antique, the wood dresser has a walnut stain finish with removable white marble tops, wood candle rests mounted on either side of the mirror, with a fan-shaped carved crest crown. The mirror has intricate spoon carvings, rosettes and 2 small marble shelves on either side. The drawers have original Eastlake Victorian Ornate Single Post Teardrop Pull hardware. They open and close easily. Burl wood trim moldings accentuate the mirror. The Eastlake movement was a nineteenth-century architectural and household design reform movement started by British architect and writer Charles Eastlake. The movement is generally considered part of the late Victorian period in terms of broad antique furniture designations. This beautiful dresser is in very nice preserved condition, no keys but unlocked, great style and form. Two small drawers have missing pulls with accompanying damage to drawer openings.
