Featured in this lot is a Victorian Eastlake Hall Mirror with a Marble shelf. The Eastlake movement was a nineteenth-century architectural and household design reform movement started by British architect and writer, Charles Eastlake. The movement is generally considered part of the late Victorian period in terms of broad antique furniture designations. This piece features intricate spoon carvings of leaves and flowers on the crown, deep rich oak and cherry tones. Dentil moldings are shown above the mirror and below the marble. There are turned wood balusters sandwiched between plinth blocks above and below the mirror. Flat panels are incised with decorative designs. Carved thistle is shown on the lower front panel. Absolutely splendid piece that will enrich any antiques collection and add a touch of elegance to any interior. Hall tree is in amazingly nice condition especially for its age, scratches and slight scuffing consistent with age and use. Measures 80"H x 27"W x 10"D.*
