Inc. in New Jersey. No. 87, issued for 5,000 shares to Joshua B. Fitch in Camden in 1883. Signed by president A. Carmer and the treasurer. Not cancelled. Ornate border and underground mining vignette. Clean. This company operated in the Dolly Varden Mining District in Elko County. In 1872 the copper ore at the Victoria was opened and for about two years was actively worked, the ores being smelted in a Mexican furnace at Dolly Varden Spring. The Victoria mine is on the east side of the mountains about halfway between the summit and Watson Spring in the south fork of Watson Canyon. We also found them applying for a patent to the Niantie Mine in the Kinsley Mining District, Elko County (White Pine News, Dec. 29, 1883)
