1907/08 "Instruction Book for The Great Chadwick Six," Philadelphia and Pottstown, 4 1/2 x 7 1/2, 42 pp., rich-gold-leaf script logo on green cover, black on cream text. Numerous photos. Charming text: "Let car alone, unless you are sure of what you are doing. Tinkering is sure to cause you trouble...Don't condemn the car until you are sure that the fault is not your own...." One of the great automobiles in motoring history - with a 706 cu. in. engine - the 1907 Chadwick Six was "America's first great high performance production car (and) the first car in the world to have a supercharger...The Chadwick...beat Barney Oldfield and his Big Benz at the 1909 inaugural races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway..."--Standard Catalog.... Only two Chadwick cars survive. Tear at blank fore-edge, staple rust, else probably unused and V.G.
