Vicker's Ltd. Dutch Luger, #8427, 9mm, 4'' barrel, blue finish with straw small parts, correct coarse checkered walnut grips, with one unmarked tin-plated wood based magazine with retaining tab instead of cross pin at base. Soldered brass plate to left side receiver flat marked ''Mgd. WI./7''. Blank chamber, Vicker's Ltd. marked toggle link, thumb safety marked ''Rust'' with upward pointing arrow, Dutch Royal proofmarks, and British proofmarks to bottom of barrel. In correct Dutch holster with combination cleaning rod/oiler. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 97% thinning arsenal blue having been refinished by the Dutch. Straw components show light thinning and were re-strawed at time of overhaul. Dutch grips with coarse flat checkering, showing little wear and some oil darkening. Action is good, bore is fine. All visible matching serial numbers. Holster shows some loss of finish near fold area of both main flap and cleaning rod flap, with light scuffs and impressions. Many were captured by the Japanese in the East Indies during the opening stages of WWII. A nice early Vickers rig. Est.: $3,000-$5,000. (C&R/PPT)
