Very unusual design Persian asad-abad Hamedan Rug. 100%natural, hand woven, vegetable dye, wool pile, on cotton foundation. The village of asad-abad produces a very limited number of Hamedans. However, the limited few that are produced are superior in terms of wool quality, design and color scheme. It is intriguing to mention that these vibrant and charming pieces are woven by the women of the household with very little education, if any at all. This asad-abad Hamedan is a perfect example of man's intrinsic genius striving for beauty and perfection, and in this case, in the form of a hand woven rug, an art underfoot. This piece has a fairly lush and glowing wool pile, plus the well pronounced design, which is indicative of a superior quality. Please notice the stylized wine glass and broken leaves in the border.
