Very unusual and high quality English made for Continental market hunting sword roll die stamped by maker “Joseph Rodgers & Sons, 6 Norfolk Street, Sheffield” with reverse etched with dealer’s name “A & J Habermann, Vienna”. This hunting sword isin the German style and measures 16 ¾” overall with a 12 ¼” blade that measures 1 5/8” across the hilt and is of thick stock showing precision polish and the fine quality that Sheffield makers are known for. The back edge is serrated forwoodcutting and the blade shows a spear point. The blade is in good condition with some staining and minor beginning pitting and a very small loss to the tip. The mountings show traces of a light case hardened color and are naturally aging. The gripand scabbard are of select quality ray skin similar to the hide used for samurai sword handles. There is a matching small knife missing its butt cap within the accessory compartment. A fine and unusual hunting sword made by aprestigious English maker for the continental trade. Est.: $2750-$5500
