Collectible signed vegetable dye baby lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation. given the fact that Persian rugs are product of a desert-like environment, it is no wonder that primary colors are used in the majority of the rugs produced as a means of absorbing the harsh and intense sunlight in order to be soothing to the eye. Therefore it is rather rare to come across rugs with such predominant champagne colored background and soft tones. For indeed the city of Kashan sits right at the edge of the desert. This is an exceptionally intricate and exquisite piece with its beautiful shah-abbasi floral pattern. The silk highlights in particular are so well pronounced that give such an illusion as if they are raised above the rugs surface. this is a magnificent royal Kashan. The creases in this rug are due to fold. They are not a defect. Moreover this rug is woven with the rarest high quality wool. Size: 7 feet 2 inches X 4 feet 5 inches. Country of origin: Iran.
