Very rare design Armenian weave fine lustrous eagle Kazak rug. Made of all natural, vegetable dye, hand woven, finest baby lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation. Eagle Kazaks (Chelaberd Kazaks) are actually Armenian rugs from the Jeraberd region of Ngorno Karabak. Jeraberd was one of the fine Armenian provinces (Kingdoms) that were a part of the greater Persia until the mid nineteenth century. Strong geometric and masculine design is the major attribute of eagle Kazaks. This is a truly lovely example of an Armenian weave Kazak with such a glowing character due to the superior quality baby lamb's wool pile. This is definitely a collector item. Size: 5 feet 6 inches X 3 feet 6 inches. Country of Origin: Karabak.
