Very rare A. H. Fox single-barrel 12ga trap shotgun with 32” barrel, serial number “400231”. The gun retains approx. 90-95% original blue, showing some slight erosion, storage rust, and in need of cleaning and oiling. The top rib is lightly engraved halfway down, “Marie Shaw”. The frame shows 80-90% toning and drifting of case hardening, which also needs oiling and cleaning. The stocks are very good plus, show a burl wood grain with sharp checkering, some minor scratches and normal use. A nickel plated pistol grip reads, “A. H. Fox, Phila PH”. The gun is fitted with a Pachmayr type hard rubber recoil pad, the stock measures 14-1/2” to the end of the wood, 15-1/2 to the end of the pad. The action is tight, the bore is good, but also in need of interior cleaning. These A. H. Fox single barrels are extremely hard to find, and this is the first example ever offered for sale by our firm. Est.: $5,000 - $8000.
