Very interesting 19th century copy or Brevete of a Rolling Block pistol marked F. A. DePechiveria y He’s (brothers) in Victoria, showing EX with crown over PR proof, “12”, and “EPR” engraved in script near muzzle. The pistol measures approx. 14” overall with 8-1/2” barrel which is a half-round, half-octagon type and approx. .44 caliber centerfire or 11mm. The barrel shows a false Damascus type finish and is browned. Theframe is nicely engraved and shows traces of gold plating over brass. The stocks are nicely carved and checkered in the European manner. The breech block and hammer were polished. The pistol is mounted with aremovable cleaning rod. The condition is very good plus overall with just some small losses to the wood stock and normal aging. Good action, good bore. A very interesting rolling block copy that was found in Mexicomany years ago but is good quality and probably Spanish manufactured and should be researched as possibly unique. Est: $600 - $1,200
