Manufactured from 1878 to 1892 with this example having the scarce 6 inch barrel which is numbered to the gun. The revolver is a late model with the barrel rib marking having the reissue, "July 25, 1871" patent date. Pinned blade front sight and notch rear sight on the latch. Matching serial number on cylinder, butt, barrel and latch. Fitted with checkered grips featuring the S&W embossed monogram. The right grip panel is numbered to the gun.
