This company was started in 1911 and stopped in 1912! Number 22 for 5 shares to WF Gratz. Datelined 1912. Signed by secretary Brin and president BIrkland(?). Brown security paper. Incorporated in Minnesota. Shares were $100 each. Allegorical education vignette. Two holes on left for storage. A few pinholes. Slight rips at some fold edges. Overall, very nice. The Alaska Whaling Company was established by Lars Christenson of Sandefjord, Norway in 1911. In 1912 whaling ceased and the company was re-organized! In 1912 the company's floating factory was disabled, the whaler Kodiak had an accident on its launching and the barge Hayden Brown was wrecked and seven crew were killed. Prag Collection.
