Maker: Titled, Uncle Bill A Tale of Two Kids and a Cowboy by Will James. Approx. Age: First state, first edition 1932. Size: 6” X 8.5”. Condition: Fair. Additional Info: This FIRST STATE, first edition, is one of the rarest Will James books. On page 181 there is an illustration of Scootie's tent, which is exceedingly rare with only a few copies known. "After a few of that first state were issued, some long-gone and unimaginative art editor must have ordered a change to a galloping horse running to catch his bunch and having nothing to do with the immediate text. Maybe he couldn't read!...The tent picture is never to be seen again! That first state is very rare" - Don Frazier, The Will James Books, p. 64. Please look closely at the pictures - they are an important part of our description. Shipping: There will be a $5 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot.
