British India, India General Service Medal (1854-95), Victoria Queen, Silver, Awarded to "Sepoy Ismail O Pranab", Clasp "Bhootan", Obv: bust of Queen Victoria facing left, legend "VICTORIA REGINA" around, Rev: Victory crowning a semi-nude seated warrior, bar with clasp "BHOOTAN", engraved on the edge "13(5?)27 SEPOY ISMAIL O PRANAB JUL 9", 38.21g, 35.97mm, (MYB 2007 # 117), about extremely fine, Very Rare.
Note: The India General Service Medal 1854 - 1895 was instituted after the Pegu campaign on 22nd December 1853, followed by a recommendation to include further bars for future campaigns and actions. Although called the "India General Service Medal", this medal covers a much wider geographical area, including Persia and Malaya.
