Very Rare Swiss Model 93 Cavalry Carbine. 21 ½" barrel is 7.5 mm and has a very nice bore. The top of the receiver is marked with a clover shaped proof mark and an "S" in an oval over "SJC Neuhausen" over the serial number 4120. There is also the letters H and D stamped close to the serial number. This is a straight pull bolt action of Mannlicher design with a box magazine that projects about ¾" below the stock. The barrel is completely covered with wood except for the last 3/16". All exposed metal retains about 70% blue. The wood stock has several dings and dents but is otherwise sound. There is one old repair at the toe and a small piece missing behind the safety. The stock has the Swiss Cross on top of the barrel guard between the rear sight and barrel band and also on the right side of the butt stock- there is also a large letter B on top of the comb in front of the buttplate. This is a very rare carbine with only about 4200 being made by the premier Swiss arms maker S.J.C. Neuhausen. A rare opportunity for the military collector.
Estimated Value$1,000 - 1,500.
