Sham Lall, Mussorie”, the cover has a complete text of 15th August 1947 citing this day as a memorable date in history, excellent condition, Very Rare.
Note: One of the most memorable dates in History. On this date the British formally and voluntarily relinquished their rule in India and transferred the Government into Indian hands. Two Independent Dominions-'India' & 'Pakistan '-came into existence Owing to shortness of time special Commemorative stamps could not be issued. The Indian Union, however, celebrated this historic occasion by use of a special Post-mark with the slogan “Jai Hind” (Victory to India), which has now become a form of salutation in the Indian Union.
