Pre-Stamp Cover, 6 Pies, 1847, Calcutta to Madras, letter in Gujarati script, back side of the cover bears a Red ink rounded corners rectangular seal of three-line compartment citing “CALCUTTA | 1847 February 9 | Bearing 6 Pies”, value in mss in black color, with a Red rectangular seal “G.P.O. | 1847 FEB 18” and a Black square seal “A.M.”. It was sent to “Girdhardass Govindass | PP at Madras”, the rounded corners curved-rectangular seal is unrecorded by Giles, signs of usual torn, good condition, Rare.
