Note: As a legendary Buddhist revivalist and writer, Anagarika Dharmapala (1864-1933) was one of the main reformers and revivalists of Ceylonese Buddhism in India and a very significant figure in its western transmission. A Buddhist preacher in three continents: Asia, North America, and Europe, he was the first to preach the Dharma in modern times. In the 20th century, he was regarded as one of the most renowned Buddhists.
