Very Fine WWII Nazi  dov 42  Code K98 Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet
This is an example of a WWII 1942 production K98 rifle, manufactured by Waffenwerke Bruenn, A.-G., Werk Bystrica,Czechoslovakia while under occupation by the Nazis. The top of the receiver is marked with an "eagle/WaA80 / dou. / 42" and the left side is marked with the Nazi firing proof and the serial number. The left rear of the barrel is also marked with the Nazi firing proof and the right rear is marked "11". The left side wall is marked "MOD 98". The rifle has all milled parts, a hooded front sight tangent rear sight graduated to 200 meters and is mounted with a correct laminated stock and handguard, absent of any markings, with a cupped buttplate, slotted cleaning rod and hatch crossed leather sling. Complete with a bayonet with blue blade, serrated Bakelite handle and marked "44asw" (the wartime code for Horster) and the opposite is marked "1077 / ia". The bayonet comes with a metal scabbard and leather frog.

Condition: Very fine. The rifle retains 90% plus slightly faded original blue finish with some thinning on the barrel and some high edge wear on the barrel bands, receiver, floor plate and trigger guard. There are a few minor scratches on the floorplate. The stock is fine with only a few overall scattered minor dents and handling marks. The sling is very good. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The bayonet is fine overall with exeption of a few nicks and chips on the right grip panel and wear on the forward 3" of the blade. The scabbard and frog are very fine.
